A Brief Introduction on GNFCC SCO

President Xi Jinping, at the 13th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of SCO in Bishkek Summit, delivered a speech to announce that according to the consensus reached by all Parties, China has taken the lead in establishing the Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (Abbr: GNFCC SCO), and recommended other Member States and Observer Countries to set up similar social groups to enhance mutual understanding and traditional friendship among people of all countries.

With the approval of the Central Government, Ms. SHEN Yueyue serving as a member of the 20th CPC Central Committee and vice chairperson of the 14th CPPCC National Committee has been appointed as the President of GNFCC SCO, and Ms. CUI Li, the former Deputy-Director of the National Health Commission of the People's Republic of China, has been appointed as the Vice-President of GNFCC SCO.

The GNFCC SCO, registered in the Ministry of Civil Affairs, is a nationwide, non-profit social organization which is entitled with the independent legal status. GNFCC accepts business guidance and supervision from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Secretariat is the executive body which is responsible for handling the daily affairs.

The GNFCC SCO has been committed to promoting friendly exchanges and cooperation among the academic, cultural institutions, social groups and enterprises under the framework of Shanghai Cooperation Organization. We successfully held a series of forums, seminars, exhibitions, media exchanges and other activities to put forward the "Shanghai Spirit" and contribute to the "Belt & Road Initiative" as well as jointly promote to build a closer SCO community with a shared future.
