Recently, Academician Chen Shilin’s team from Chengdu University of TCM, Tong Yigang’s team from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, and collaborators used pharmacogenomics research methods, including high-quality genome assembly, prediction of biosynthetic pathways for medicinal natural products, and analysis of broad-spectrum anti-coronavirus activity, to systematically reveal the broad-spectrum anti-coronavirus activity of a series of metabolites in the natural biosynthetic pathway of cepharanthine, providing a solid foundation for accelerating anti-coronavirus drug development.
