For the past three years, Sudheendra Kulkarni, a former aide to former Indian prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and a renowned scholar, has traveled across several Chinese provinces in search of answers to one question: how China has succeeded in lifting hundreds of millions out of poverty.
His latest stop is Jiangxi Province, where he is exploring the modernization of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). In his view, this is more than just a Chinese success story—it offers valuable lessons for India and other countries of the Global South seeking sustainable pathways to development.
